CAMPING

BASE CAMPING

Bring your tent, your friends and get ready for a beautiful weekend nestled in the mountains of West Virginia.

  • Base-Camp Host stationed near the Boat House.
  • Freedom to enjoy Wild & Wonderful WV with immediate access to Shavers Lake beach and activities including swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, frisbee golf, hiking, euro bungee, climbing wall and more. ​ Plus, convenient access to scenic lift ride to the mountaintop village experience.
  • Relish in the beauty of the lake and mountains while enjoying acoustic sets at the Boat House from 11:00 am – 1:30 pm on Friday and Saturday.
  • Access to potable water, flushable toilets and camp showers.
  • Lush camping with ideal temperatures for September averaging a highs in upper 70s and lows in the mid 50s.
  • Both mountain and lakeside Base-Camping available.
  • Enjoy the freedom of choosing your campsite and camping with your friends. Group campsites encouraged!
  • The Boat House will serve food and drinks on a lake-side deck and 4848 food vendors will provide a variety of delicious options as well.
  • Campground Safety Patrol.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

  • Individual Festival Camping Ticket required to set up in 4848 Base-Camp.
  • Complimentary Ski-Lift and Festival Express Shuttles to get you to and from the Mountaintop Village Festivities (music starts at 2:00pm on Fri and Sat) and will operate from 8:00 am until the music ends.
  • Primitive Tent Camping Only.
  • Vehicle parking is a short walk to the camping area. Please carpool.
  • Camping is within a 5 to 10 minute walk to the Boat House, beach and also to the lift that will propel you to the Mountaintop Village Experience!
  • Enclosed propane grills are allowed for cooking only.
  • Generators and camp-fires are not permitted!
  • You will not be permitted to drive your personal vehicle to and from the 4848 Festival Venue.
  • Once your car is parked, it needs to remain parked for the duration of the event.

KIDS

We love kids and want you to bring them along for the experience. ​ There are many kid friendly activities including a playground, water inflatables, beach, canoes, kayaking, hiking, the climbing wall, the zipline and much more. ​ We will provide some additional festival related kids activities (stay tuned for more info!) and will make sure that they feel welcome and apart of 4848. ​ Kids can join you with a kid’s camping ticket.

RV CAMPING

Silver Creek RV Camping

  • Silver Creek RV Camping is 2.5 miles from the 4848 Mountaintop Village and a short shuttle ride from Shavers Lake. See lodging map.
  • Complimentary Festival Express Shuttles get you to and from the Village and Shavers Lake.
  • Dedicated 30-Amp Hookup.
  • RV Campsites are on gravel.
  • Every RV must have a Silver Creek RV Camping Package.
  • Everyone must have an individual RV Camping Ticket to camp in an RV at Silver Creek.
  • Silver Creek is the home of The Locker Room Sports Bar which offers food, drinks and the only hot spot on the mountain.
  • Snacks and essentials are available at the Wildcat Provisions and Deli at the top of the mountain.
  • No dump stations or dedicated water outlets.
  • Showers are not available at the RV campground, but RV campers will have access to showers at Base Camp.
  • No campfires or open flames.
  • Enclosed propane grills are allowed for cooking only.
  • Water Fill available upon arrival, location TBA.
  • Dedicated Porto-Johns for RV’ers.

Almost Heaven Dry RV Camping

  • Located across from Soaring Eagle. See lodging map.
  • Eagle building overlooking miles of mountains and offering a ¾ mile walk to the Village.
  • Complimentary Festival Express Shuttles to get you to and from the Mountaintop Village and Shavers Lake.
  • RV Camping Spot: Check-in Thursday, July 7, Check-out Sunday, July 10.
  • 3-Day GA ​ Ticket Thursday – Saturday (per guest).
  • An amazing view from the top of the Mountain.
  • No Water or Power Hook ups - please note that with average July highs in the upper 70’s and lows in the low 60’s, you may find that there is little to no need for AC in your RV.
  • Generators permitted - quiet hours from midnight to 8am
  • Ticket includes access to all music, the 4848 Mountaintop Village Experience, Shavers Lake activities, scenic lift rides, Split Rock Pool, a climbing wall and more.
  • Water Fill available upon arrival, location TBA.
  • Dedicated Porto-Johns for RV’ers.
